“We got a horse on trade a few years ago who was a bit grumpy, distressed, spooky, didn’t want to go to the jumps, upside down in the flatwork, and a bit behind the leg. We worked him from November to April with a lot of success in the training, but in April he was still grumpy, distressed about grooming, and experiencing a lot of distress in the horse show environment. While we were at Lexington Spring Premiere, my groomer, who had been working for some really upper level riders, suggested that we try Vitalize® Alimend®. We went to Farmvet and bought the daily pump and also a bunch of tubes. Immediately upon using the product the horse began to gain weight and his irritation during grooming and general demeanor improved. Since giving him Alimend, he has not experienced any distress in the show ring or displayed any misbehavior in the show ring. Our only conclusion is that Alimend calms the nervous reaction of the stomach and that in turn prevents the brain from having the escalation of show ring distress. The horse is a changed horse for the better, and has jumped almost exclusively clear rounds since we discovered Alimend. For certain we won’t be going to any shows without a supply of Alimend, it has become part of our show routine and ulcer prevention program. We think it is an integral part of keeping our equine athletes in their best performing condition.”
